Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway - Connected by Kim Karr

I feel so honored to have this opportunity to take part in the blog tour hosted by Aerie Book Promotions for Connected by Kim Karr. Take a look at this absolutely stunning cover!

What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?

Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.

When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soulmate.

Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift -- but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

My View:

OOOOO+ - OMG!!!!

To quote my newest, hot and sexy BBF, this book is “perfect really!” And so it belongs on my “favorites” shelf, which is right where it now sits.

I mean, how can you not fall in love with someone who writes a song about you (well not actually me but you know what I mean)!
“I wrote that song about you. About meeting you that night."
(Cue swoony sigh.)
This beautifully written love story contains just the right amount of mystery and intrigue mixed in with a heaping dose of lust, swoony romance and passion plus a tiny smidgen of angst. It drew me in hook, line and sinker just like the little fishy I was reaching for that yummy bait.
“Could love at first sight be real?”
That’s a question many of us have asked ourselves time and time again. And honestly, I don’t know the answer. I didn’t fall in love at first sight although the attraction was most certainly there. For me it took some time but for others that might not be the case.

For River and Dahlia, there was an immediate intense connection upon first eye contact at the campus bar where River’s band was performing. BUT, and there’s a big shouty BUT here, Dahlia has a boyfriend. And not just any boyfriend, but Ben, a super smart and hottie frat boy who has been her best friend since childhood and has stood by her side during all of the past tragedies life threw her way.
“…could love at first sight even exist when you were already in love with someone else?"
So after some harmless flirting and adorable banter, Dahlia does the right thing and leaves even though River asked her to stay until after the show. She knows it’s too dangerous for her to stick around and goes back to the frat house to see Ben. Good girl! I was so proud of her!

Time moves forward and we catch a glimpse of Dahlia’s life with Ben after grad school. They’re now engaged and happily living together. But unfortunately, Dahlia once again experiences an unspeakable tragedy. My heart literally ached for Dahlia. Her pain was my pain and it was excruciatingly intolerable. While Ben’s family; best friend, Caleb; and Dahlia’s best friend, Aerie looked after her, Dahlia just barely went through the motions of existing. She struggled to get through every day for almost two years. Then, Aerie asks Dahlia for a favor and just like that, Dahlia’s life is turned upside down when that once in a lifetime moment happens again.
“I feel like fate has brought us together again. I also believe that one night, so long ago, just wasn’t the right time for us. But tonight is.”
Most of the book is written from Dahlia’s point of view but we read from River’s point of view toward the end. I was beside myself when the author allowed us in River’s head. He’s such a strong, passionate, caring man who loves Dahlia so completely and being able to perceive his feelings for her from his point of view makes him that much more endearing.
“I never imagined I could feel so connected to anyone as much as I feel connected to you. I knew I loved you from the moment I saw you. How could I not? Loving you is as easy as breathing.”
I loved everything about this book from the swoony rock star to the heart wrenching loss to the overwhelming passion to the incredible twist. And WOW! Just WOW! What a twist! You will screech, “Say what?” Yes, there is somewhat of a cliffhanger ending but I say somewhat because it’s not as bad as you might think. You will have some answers but your heartbeat will accelerate a bit and you’ll be left saying is it Fall yet? Because that’s when Torn will be released.

I. Want. It. Now.
(Stomps feet and throws temper tantrum!)

And as if I couldn’t love this book anymore than I already do, there’s not only a Fifty Shades reference but also two cameo appearances by none other than the almighty rock gods themselves, Jake Wethers and Kellan Kyle. So, yeah, Big, Big LOVE! And an added bonus, there are these clever little illustrations used to indicate the breaks within each chapter. Just another little treat that made me smile! (Yes, it’s the little things that make me happy.)

So, if this review doesn’t drive you to immediately 1-click then what about that stunning cover? That cover captivated me the moment it was revealed! It speaks volumes to me about connection and soul mates.  Does it say the same to you? Go forth and connect with Connected by Kim Karr. It doesn't disappoint.
